Nest Summaries Updated Annually

Since I have posted nesting results for each of the areas I survey on the page where I first wrote about that area's BLOY nests, I am copying all to this post and will update here annually to provide one place for all my nest data, from south-most nest to north-most. 2020, however, was a difficult COVID year. Access to The Thumb at Road's End made it difficult for the new surveyor to get there. She did find nesting at Middle Rock the two times she went but did not learn the results. I was only able to access two nest sites on Cascade Head, neither of which were active. I could not access Cape Kiwanda. 2021 was just as bad. Only one nest was active... Middle Rock at Road's End where the pair laid 3 eggs, lost them, started over and laid 3 eggs and lost those.

In the winter of 21/22, the road to Hart's Cove at Cascade head washed out so I did not survey there at all in 2022. Found no nesting BLOY in 2021. Lost access to the North nest.

In 2022, Casey Mills helped monitor at Road's End which helped greatly. The only nests were on South Rock (apparently failed) and Middle Rock (one fledged).
